LENT REPENT AND POLITICS & Social media

I ASK :: What are the sins a man commit by being disrespectful judgemental and finger pointing toward a political and voters and MPs of a particular political party - Google Search

FRIENDLY "REmind HIM and REmind Her

DO I NEED TO CONFESS to myself, to a friend a confidant, a pastor a Priest  or even publicly and or on Social media?

Based on Christian theological perspectives and biblical teachings, engaging in disrespectful, judgmental, and finger-pointing behavior toward political opponents, voters, or MPs involves several, often overlapping, sins.

These behaviors generally violate commands to love one's neighbor and to maintain humility.

Core Sins Involved:

Sinful Judgment and Condemnation (Matthew 7:1-5): The Bible warns that the measure of judgment used against others will be measured back.

Judging political opponents often involves acting as a "judge" rather than a "doer of the law" essentially setting oneself up as an authority higher than God.

Pride and Self-Righteousness (Proverbs 6:16-19): A haughty spirit is listed as something God detests. Such behavior assumes one's own political, moral, or intellectual superiority over voters or MPs of another party.

Slander and Gossip (Proverbs 10:18, James 4:11): Finger-pointing often involves spreading negative information, rumors, or half-truths, which the Bible defines as breaking the commandment to not bear false witness.

Contempt and Hatred (Matthew 5:21-22): Jesus equated holding contempt or anger toward a "brother" (fellow human) to the sin of murder. Expressing scorn or derision implies a lack of love for someone who is made in God's image.

Sowing Discord (Proverbs 6:16-19): Deliberately dividing people or stirring up anger against a specific group is considered an abomination, as it destroys communal peace.

Uncontrolled Anger and Wrath (Ephesians 4:31): When disrespect turns into rage or malicious"dirty" talk, it becomes a sin that gives "a foothold to the devil".

Contextual Considerations:
Disrespecting Authority (Romans 13:1-2): While citizens may disagree with MPs, the Bible advises respecting governing authorities as they are appointed by God.

The "End Justifies the Means" Fallacy (1.4.7): A common temptation is to believe that because a political cause is "good" rude or sinful behavior to achieve it is justified. Scripture generally holds that this is not acceptable.

The remedy provided in these contexts is to move from a posture of judgmentalism to one of humility, prayer, and "gentleness toward everyone" (Titus 3:2).

14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”  2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV)
